PMG Construction Partners with Access Gallery in a Facilities Update

Access Gallery is a Denver-based nonprofit empowering dedicated artists (many with developmental or intellectual disabilities) to build sustainable careers in the arts. Aspiring artists with disabilities often face unique barriers to professional opportunities, representation, and income. Access Gallery is working to close that gap through exhibitions, interactive experiences, and original art sales. The Gallery connects artists with the community. Its studio provides mentorship, real-world client work, and career development while Creative Services delivers high-quality design and commissioned artwork to businesses and agencies.

Expertise in the Service of Purpose
Like many nonprofits, Access Gallery relies on the strength of community partnerships to sustain its mission-driven work. Professional organizations can play a vital role, offering expertise, resources, and creativity to meet evolving needs. During the pandemic, Gensler Architects and PMG Construction partnered to remodel the Gallery, combining design and construction expertise to create a space better equipped to serve its artists. Since then, PMG has remained an active supporter and committed partner.
Sustainability For Good
In the fall of 2025, Access Gallery reached out to PMG for help refreshing its break room—creating a more functional space where staff could reheat meals, wash dishes, store supplies, and better maintain the area. Eager to support the Gallery while stewarding resources wisely, PMG identified an opportunity to repurpose materials and fixtures salvaged from another project.
It’s standard practice for PMG to look beyond demolition, intentionally identifying cabinetry, fixtures, and building materials that can be reused or donated to nonprofit partners like Access Gallery.
“Approximately 80% to 90% of materials in a typical demolition or remodeling project could be salvaged and reused, yet a significant portion still ends up in landfills. While roughly 70% to 76% of construction and demolition (C&D) waste is recovered or recycled, a massive amount of high-quality cabinetry, fixtures, and structural materials are discarded.” Construction Wasti Statistics, BigRentz
For PMG, salvaging and repurposing materials is more than efficiency; it’s a commitment to sustainability in action. Cabinetry from another project was redeployed to the Gallery, significantly improving the break room’s functionality. PMG also installed a new compact dishwasher and re-plumbed ,the sink and disposal, completing a thoughtful upgrade that supports the Gallery’s team and mission.

Making an Impact
It’s the little things in life that make the biggest impact. PMG made it happen and provided the quick turnaround at no cost to the Access Gallery – so they can focus their time and efforts on what’s most important to them, their artists, staff, and community.
